Internship Opportunities
Students work with their future internship supervisor and major professor to determine the details of the internship experience, which can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis depending on project needs. Slightly more than half of the internships that OSU PSM students completed have turned into full-time employment opportunities!
Consider posting an internship opportunity on our PSM website! To get your internship opportunity listed on our site simply fill out an online submission form and your internship will appear on our website here.

Responsibilities:
Student: The student is expected to take the lead role in securing an appropriate internship, writing the internship proposal, and coordinating communication between the internship supervisor and major professor. The internship proposal provides details about the internship, specific project objectives, and should be completed at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the project to allow for feedback from the graduate committee and project supervisor. The student is expected to complete all work agreed upon by all parties and submit a final report at the end of the internship, which may or may not be impacted by a non-disclosure agreement.
Major Professor: The major professor will assist students in identifying viable internship opportunities, help develop reasonable objectives for the internship proposal, and provide feedback for the final report. He/she will be available for consultation and advice during the internship and will check on the student’s progress one-third of the way through the project, but will not take an active role in directing the work of the student intern. The final grade for the internship will be assigned by the major professor based on feedback received from the internship supervisor and the student’s journal and final report.
Internship Supervisor: One individual from an organization should serve as the student’s supervisor. The supervisor will play a primary role in helping the student formulate a description of specific objectives and work to be completed during the internship. This person will also send the major professor an evaluation form that examines the student’s work quality, accomplishments, enthusiasm, and specific contributions made to the organization. Any problems or concerns during the internship should be shared with the student and his/her major professor.
