Tuition and Financial Aid

Costs for tuition and fees at OSU can be calculated online and for full-time graduate students range from $3524 for residents to $5414 for non-residents for the current academic year (2007-08).

Your graduate education is an investment in your future~ but there may be specific scholarships, employment opportunities, or financial aid options that could lessen your costs.

The Graduate School offers a variety of fellowships and scholarships for new as well as continuing graduate students. Please visit their website for details. Note that many of the application deadlines are in January- March! You are welcome to apply for these awards before you submit your application to the Admissions Office, but final award administration will depend on acceptance to a graduate program at OSU.

We successfully competed for some funding recently to create a Professional Science Master’s Laurels Scholarship Program.  Scholarships will provide full or partial tuition remissions for one or more terms during the academic year.  For additional information and to learn how to apply, please click here.

The Financial Aid Office can help you explore eligibility for various loans, deferred tuition, work-study jobs, and national scholarships. Visit their website for additional information and useful resources. If you have questions, please call (541) 737-2241 or write to: Financial Aid Office, Oregon State University, 218 Kerr Administration Building, Corvallis OR 97331.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships might be available through your major department. These positions include a stipend and tuition waiver and are awarded on a competitive basis within each department. It is generally useful to ask for a recommendation from a faculty member who is interested in hiring you. This means that assistantships are typically awarded to students who have proactively explored possibilities by making direct contact with professors in their field of interest. There might even be awards available for excellence in teaching! Please ask for additional information from your department.
